Bushnell-Prairie City Elementary School is home to nearly 300 learners in grades pre-K through 5. With a district commitment to early success, typical class sizes in kindergarten through second grade seldom go over 16. In addition to core subjects, our elementary students enjoy opportunities in physical education, music, and art. B-PC Elementary also has a strong MTSS program, offering support and academic interventions to all students.
We believe that Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Fairness, Trustworthiness, and Citizenship will prepare our students for success and have adopted Character Counts as a framework to instill and promote these characteristics. We begin every week with a school-wide assembly on Monday mornings where we celebrate “Super Spartans” who have been recognized by staff as displaying good character and serving as notable examples for their peers. In addition, monthly Spartan Awards recognize excellence in the classroom for Author of the Month, Artist of the Month, Athlete of the Month and Musician of the Month. Our students and staff all strive to improve and grow in all areas of life making us all #SpartanStrong and #proud2BPC!
