Attendance Letter Update
Schools are required to notify guardians of their students’ school absences when a certain number of absences are accumulated during the school year. Our school district mails paper notices to guardians’ home addresses, but will be changing our practice to instead send attendance letters through Skyward Family Access beginning this week.
If your student is issued an attendance courtesy or warning letter, you will receive an email notification stating that your student has a letter in your Family Access portal. You will need to log into your Skyward Family Access portal to view the letter in your child’s Portfolio.
Please note that by this time in the school year, some students may have accumulated more absences than the minimum number required to receive a notice. All absences will appear in these letters, even if beyond the minimum number of absences required for the letter. This is for your information. Such absences will be grouped under a heading named, “Attendance not Included in Count.”
It is imperative that the email address you have on file with your Skyward guardian account is one that you can log into and check regularly. You will also need to be able to access your Skyward Family Access account. If you need help with your Skyward username or password, use the “Forgot Your Username or Password?” link under the login fields to retrieve or reset those.
